What will your Dietitian do?
Your Dietitian at Advanced Allied Care will conduct a thorough assessment and develop a treatment plan tailored to your goals.
To support you in reaching your goals, following your initial assessment, your Dietitian may provide:
Nutrition assessment and individualised meal planning to support specific disabilities, medical conditions, improve wellbeing, and meet specific dietary needs
Capacity building for independent food choices and preparation, supporting healthy eating habits and nutrition-related life skills
Education and training for participants, families, and support workers around dietary requirements, nutrition for specific disabilities, and food safety
Monitoring of weight, nutritional status, and dietary intake to ensure goals are being met
Support with shopping and food access to address barriers to healthy eating in the community - this may include grocery shopping guidance, in home pantry reviews and referrals to meal provision services
Support for mealtime management, including swallowing-related nutrition strategies in collaboration with Speech Pathologists where appropriate
Resource development such as the development of tailored meal plans and nutritional resources
Relevant reporting and recommendations to the NDIA or other funding bodies regarding ongoing Dietetic needs
Advice and recommendations for nutrition-related consumables and equipment
Relevant reporting and recommendations to the NDIA or relevant funding bodies regarding ongoing funding requirements
Recommendations for the purchase of relevant low risk/low cost equipment
