What will your Occupational Therapist do?

Your Occupational Therapist at Advanced Allied Care will conduct a thorough assessment and develop a treatment plan tailored to your goals.

In order to reach your goals, after your initial assessment, your Occupational Therapist may provide:

  • Assistive technology prescription, trials and reporting for approval by the NDIA or relevant funding bodies

  • Home modifications

  • Capacity building and development of life skills

  • Cognitive assessments and strategies to improve memory, organisation and problem solving skills

  • Sensory processing evaluation to identify how sensory information is processed and strategies to improve responses to sensory stimuli

  • Functional capacity and environmental assessments

  • Housing assessments and reporting

  • Review of transfers, seating and pressure area care

  • Education and training for family and caregivers

  • Relevant reporting and recommendations to the NDIA or relevant funding bodies regarding ongoing funding requirements

  • Recommendations for the purchase of relevant low risk/low cost equipment
